Cartoon Copyrights

In 2006, the J. N. "Ding" Darling Foundation assigned its copyrights and trademarks to the "Ding" Darling Wildlife Society. The Society owns/controls copyrights to Darling's cartoons and writings. It encourages teachers and students to make use of the cartoons within the classroom without specific permission; however, publishing any of the cartoons in any format requires specific written permission.

The Society has contracted with the University of Iowa Libraries to manage rights and permissions to publish copyrighted items. View the protocol for obtaining permissions.
